On Thursday evening, at the coastal area of Voula, Athens, the 111th Rectors’ Synod took place — one of the most important institutional gatherings in Greek higher education.
Hosted this year by the University of Piraeus and supported by the Region of Attica, the Synod brought together university leaders from across the country to discuss the present and future of academia.
The Rectors’ Synod serves as a key forum where decision-makers of Greek universities align on strategy, innovation, and the evolution of higher education — making it a high-level event of national importance.
A Drone Show That Became the Highlight of the Night
As the evening unfolded, all eyes turned upward — where DRNS Drone Light Shows transformed the moment into a powerful visual experience.
Custom-designed formations filled the sky, including:
The official logo of the University of Piraeus
Symbolic representations of education and knowledge
A striking open book formation, accompanied by the phrase:
“Πικραί αι ρίζαι της παιδείας, γλυκείς οι καρποί”
(“The roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet”)
The inscription “111th Rectors’ Synod” illuminated in the sky
Tribute visuals dedicated to the Region of Attica as the event’s sponsor
Each formation was crafted to reflect the values of education, growth, and intellectual legacy.
An Experience That Captured Attention
The drone show quickly became the undeniable highlight of the evening.
From the very first moment, it stood out as the most unique and unexpected experience ever presented at a Rectors’ Synod — something completely different from anything attendees had seen before.
Guests were constantly capturing the show on their phones, turning the entire moment into a wave of organic content and real-time sharing. What followed was even more powerful: overwhelmingly positive reactions and exceptional feedback.
Words like “impressive,” “innovative,” and “unforgettable” were heard throughout the audience, while many described it as the most memorable moment of the entire Synod.
An immersive experience that combined innovation, symbolism, and storytelling —but above all, a moment that people will remember, talk about, and share long after the event ended.
🎬 The official aftermovie video will be released soon. Stay tuned.
