Hundreds of Drones Illuminate the Athenian Sky for the Hellenic Championship

The Athenian night sky was transformed into a breathtaking spectacle as hundreds of drones illuminated the horizon in celebration of the Hellenic Tennis Championship.

Designed and presented by DRNS, the show captivated audiences across the southern suburbs of Athens, blending technology, art, and emotion in a way that connected Greece’s glorious past with the vibrant spirit of modern sport.

As the drones danced in perfect harmony, they formed stunning aerial images — silhouettes of tennis players in motion, glowing racquets and tennis courts, and the majestic presence of ancient Greek columns, symbolizing the country’s timeless heritage. A radiant torch and an Olympic-inspired halo and banner filled the sky, paying tribute to Greece as the birthplace of the Olympic ideal.

The performance reached its emotional peak with the figure of Novak Djokovic, shining high above Athens alongside the phrase “I love you Greece” — a heartfelt message that went viral worldwide. The sky then erupted in a wave of light shaped as the Greek flag, completing a visual journey that united culture, history, and athletic passion.

This first-of-its-kind show was not only a symbol of innovation but also a powerful invitation to fans across Greece — from the legendary and one of the world’s greatest players, Novak Djokovic — and beyond, to join the excitement of the Hellenic Championship semifinals on November 7 and the grand finals on November 8.
